Who We Are

ABOUT US
Across much of the developing world, the private sector plays a major role in fulfilling the need for health services, particularly when public sector service provision is weak. In Pakistan, 70% of health services are estimated to be provided by the private sector. At the same time, the private sector itself faces a number of challenges including poor quality of care, fragmented services and high costs.
Community Health Solutions (CHS) is a social enterprise with a mission to reform health markets and systems in the developing world for the benefit of all people through innovations to improve service quality and health impact in a sustainable manner.
OUR APPROACH
CHS focuses on public health priority issues and the challenges of private sector health care provision with a hub and spoke approach that organises private sector health care providers around its’ health centers. Health care providers are trained to improve their service delivery and/ or to refer patients to our health center for free, or low cost, quality care. CHS also has an active community based approach with outreach camps and a fleet of mobile vans that work directly in communities. In a short period of time CHS has set a new standard of care for public health issues in Pakistan through its’ 51 hubs, “Sehatmand Zindagi” centers, across Pakistan, providing one-stop access to cutting edge
diagnostics, consultation and treatment. It has also established one of the largest referral networks of private health care providers and screens almost a million community members annually. Donor funding has been critical in helping establish our infrastructure and deliver these services, and we continue to develop partnerships with those wanting to finance improving health in Pakistan in additional areas. At the same time, CHS is actively developing synergistic business lines that support an ever-increasing share of our costs, with the goal to achieve sustainability for our core operations through our own revenues by 2025. The flagship programme is our commercial lab services, CHS Labs, offering a full range of high quality diagnostic services.
Our centres stand as a one stop facility that provides
high quality diagnostic and treatment
care towards infectious and non
infectious diseases.

CHS INTERNATIONALLY
In 2019, CHS established Innovations for Community Health (ICH) in the Philippines and opened its first overseas hub. The center has quickly ramped up efforts to become one of the top centers in the CHS family, with almost 100 TB patients registered in the month of September, 2019 alone. We are actively working with partners to expand this initiative and to seed similar efforts in other relevant countries.
